Transatlantic rower only gets 130 miles and rescued again

05/29/09
(NECN: Scot Yount, Bourne, Mass.) - It was the end of an exhausting journey for French ocean rower Charlie Girard, who returned to firm ground after aborting his second attempt at a Transatlantic row.

Clearly, Girard had misjudged the mental anguish the journey would impart.

He set off from the Orleans Yacht Club on May 19th. With his wife and father nearby, the adventurer seemed confident he could make it this time.
