Green-Inspired SailProud has been judged a 2009 StartupNation Category Winner for “Greenest Business” in their annual competition.
SailProud Apparel is a young maker of sailing apparel based in Boston that recently announced a strong and focused shift to a completely “green” fiber-base. The new gear will be constructed completely from recycled plastic bottles, reclaimed industrial acrylic and cotton waste, hemp, soy, bamboo, and Amazonian berry.

I’ve seen these guys around at a couple of regattas in the Caribbean. Not a lot of products yet (I guess they’re still somewhat new), but the stuff is neat. It’ll be Interesting to see how this “green” stuff plays out in tech apparel.
