Helicopter rides for Art Show winners!

Newport: 02/24/09 Team One Newport and Patagonia on Thames Street announced the winners of their First Annual Children’s Art Contest and Art Show. The contest and show were held in both stores during this year’s Newport Winter Festival and children were asked to depict what makes Aquidneck/Conanicut Island special to them. The winners were decided by popular vote
In each age group, first place winners receive a helicopter tour of Aquidneck Island with Bird’s Eye View Helicopter. Second place winners receive a Save the Bay family gift basket and third place winners receive a family membership to the Norman Bird Sanctuary.
In the five to seven year old age group first prize was awarded to Peyton Mulhern of Middletown for her winning drawing of a girl holding a surf board at the beach. Second prize was awarded to Chase Anderson of Middletown and third prize was awarded to Jasmine Aldazabal of Middletown.
Ada Schriber of Middletown won first prize in the eight to ten year old age group. Brennan Cluff of Middletown won second and Lyndsay Bowman of Middletown won third.
In the eleven to fourteen year old age group there were two winners, Cameron Cluff of Middletown and Fraser MacKechnie of Middletown.
A special awards ceremony will be held On Saturday, February 28th at 10:15AM at the Team One Newport store, 561 Thames Street.
