It’s official – J95 Boat of the Year

(Key West, FL)- On Sunday, January 17th, David Reed, Editor of Sailing World magazine, awarded the Boat of the Year Awards to J/Boats for the J/95 and J/97. The J/95 was awarded the Overall Boat of the Year and the J/97 was awarded the Best Club Racer.

LNG task force reviews Mt. Hope Bay

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – President of the Senate M. Teresa Paiva Weed has started a special Senate task force to review the proposed construction of an LNG offshore loading platform on Mount Hope Bay.

Newport West Marine goes BIG

West Marine is taking over the old Office Depot store on West Main Rd in Middletown. The location will operate as a retail store and distribution hub for wholesale business. No press release yet but the information was floating around at the boat show and it sounds like it will happen.

Striper University

Captain Jim White is putting on a new show dedicated totally to striped bass and striped bass fishing. Fourteen (14) professional anglers will be discussing and teaching you how to become better anglers and catch more stripers in the coming years. The show is March 12th-14th at the Sheraton Airport Motor Inn, Warwick, RI.

Topics for this event include: How to fish live eels from boat and shore, tube and worming, fly fishing, kayak fishing, fishing with live menhaden, scup and shad. Learn to use tins effectively presented by tin expert Joe Martin, owner of Point Jude Lures.
